Our Process
When starting a new design project, there are steps of the graphic design process to follow that will help to achieve the best results. Below are the basic steps we follow to ensure that the final product is the right solution to our client’s needs.
This is the most important step for any job. Before we begin a project, we need to know our client’s needs. Gathering all the information from the start puts the job on the right path. Sometimes that requires a face-to-face meeting, and many times a simple e-mail will do which outlines:
Who is the target audience?
What is the overall message?
What is the size/number of pages of the piece?
What is the client’s budget?
Is there a deadline for completion?
Can the client provide examples of designs they like?
Is there an existing corporate brand that needs to be matched?
After we know all the technical and specific information, we send the client an estimate based on the amount of time we believe the job should take. Many times, we require a deposit of 1/2 the estimate before we begin. This is also true before sending a job to print.
This is the fun part. We believe anything worth doing is worth doing well, so you won’t find any clipart here. We harness our creative juices to design projects with the latest trends that are appropriate to each specific job. We often brainstorm, experiment and find inspiration in order to produce a few different ideas for our clients to choose.
With a few versions in hand, our clients are encouraged to review, add/edit text and pictures, and even “mix and match” the designs to form one complete design. We will give our opinions and make suggestions when necessary.
After all the revisions and edits are in order, the client gives us a final approval—whether it’s launching a website or sending the file to the printer.
